MFA, or Multi-Factor Authentication, is an additional security measure. With MFA, your email address and password alone are not enough; an additional form of authentication is required. This can take the form of a hardware token, a fingerprint, a facial scan, or a code sent via text message or an app. These are all options for additional authentication.
The purpose of MFA is to make it harder for unauthorized users to log in. Imagine that your password and email address have been compromised in an attack; they still won't be able to log in because they don't have those additional forms of authentication.
Of course, cybersecurity involves much more than just MFA. Effective cybersecurity starts with a solid cybersecurity strategy!
