By getting started quickly with our clients and earning certifications with the help of your Career Manager, you’ll learn the fundamental skills that are essential for the rest of your IT career in one to one and a half years.

At Alistar, we take a different approach. In many IT traineeships, trainees are temporarily assigned to various clients. Turnover is often high. At Alistar, your career begins with an IT traineeship that evolves into a sustainable growth path: the IT Growth Program. At every stage, you'll take on significantly more responsibilities, accompanied, of course, by a commensurate salary.
Alistar is for people without IT experience, but with a strong drive to make themselves and others better and happier. We’re looking for the ‘translators’ between people and machines. You don’t need to know any programming languages when you start, as long as you understand the user’s language and are eager to learn.
An IT traineeship at Alistar is the ideal place to develop yourself and grow into a consultant who makes a difference in the world of IT.
You’ll start the IT Growth Program with the IT traineeship. During your first year to a year and a half, you’ll learn the fundamental skills that are essential for the rest of your career. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to explore the IT field and discover how IT is structured within organizations. You’ll do this on a full-time basis, supplemented by training courses to improve your soft skills and earn certifications.

That’s right! An IT traineeship is for anyone who’d rather not go back to school but would like to be trained as an IT consultant. In fact, you don’t need any prior education or experience in IT. The IT trainees at Alistar all come from different backgrounds and have their own stories—from starting out studying history or logistics to taking a gap year working in the hospitality industry.
You’ll receive a permanent contract right away, so you’ll be paid to learn. You’ll immediately put theory into practice. In addition, during your IT Traineeship and the phases that follow, you’ll earn official certifications that will serve as an important foundation for your IT career.

You analyze problems and, with your initiative and IT expertise, ensure that processes run more smoothly, enabling organizations to grow.
You manage teams of, for example, consultants or developers, and are responsible for a specific part of an organization.
You'll develop new applications and systems, for example in Mendix. You'll also contribute your own ideas for improving processes.
You are a process facilitator and coach on a team. You facilitate Scrum events and work to improve the team's processes.

During the online introductory interview, we’d like to get to know you better. We’ll also tell you more about the Alistar IT Growth Program. Finally, we’ll walk you through how to prepare for the assessment day and discuss what you can expect from it.
This day is all about you. Through a group assignment, aptitude tests, and one-on-one interviews, we’ll explore where your strengths lie. This way, we’ll get a complete picture: we’ll get to know you, and you’ll get to know us.
If, at the end of the assessment day, you’re just as enthusiastic as we are, we’ll offer you a permanent contract right away. Your new career in IT can begin.

Yes, you’ll simply receive a salary. As you earn certifications and gain experience, your salary will increase accordingly. We have an entire system in place for this—the ‘Career Development System,’ as we call it. That’s nice to know.
In the Deep Dive program, you’ll work 32 hours at our partner’s office and have one fixed training day at our office. You’ll be paid as usual for these days as well.
In the IT Traineeship, you work 40 hours a week and do most of your learning in your free time. That takes about five to ten hours a week. This balance changes in the Deep Dive.
At Alistar, you’ll have your own personal Career Manager. They’ll guide your development as you become an IT Consultant, based on an annual GROW cycle. This varies by phase and project. You’ll typically work on a project with an Alistar partner for 6–12 months at a time. During that period, you’ll become familiar with the processes, methods, and systems. You’ll carry the lessons learned from each experience with you to your next challenge. We’ll tell you more about this during the assessment day.
We have partners located throughout the Randstad. When finding the right project for you, we always take your commute time into account and consider whether the challenge is a good fit for you.
Phase 1 – IT Traineeship: lasts one to one and a half years, depending on how quickly you develop. Phase 2 – Deep Dive: lasts one to one and a half years, depending on how quickly you develop. Phase 3 – Next: You’ll work as a Senior Consultant for at least two years. During this phase, you’ll continue to develop your skills through a customized development program.
We’ll call you first for a brief introductory conversation. If we hit it off, we’ll invite you to an assessment day. Our assessment days are designed to provide you with detailed information about our IT Growth Program. We’ll also determine whether you’re a good fit for the company—and we expect the same from you. We’ll do this through aptitude tests, group assignments, and one-on-one interviews. At the end of the day, we may offer you a permanent contract.
