The IT Trainee Program at a Glance

Alistar Academy’s IT traineeship is your starting point for a career in IT, where you’ll continue to grow and develop. It’s perfect for anyone who has just completed a higher professional education (HBO) or university (WO) program—or who has chosen to leave their studies. Regardless of your work or educational background. At Alistar Academy, we offer a paid IT traineeship where you’ll gain relevant work experience right away. Want to make the switch to IT? The IT traineeship is the first of three phases, which we collectively call the IT Growth Program. You’ll develop into an IT consultant through three phases: IT Traineeship, Deep Dive, and Next. During the IT traineeship, you’ll immediately receive a permanent contract, work for Alistar on projects for top-200 companies, receive personalized guidance, and earn more than 10 official certifications, among other things. In practical terms, this means a 40-hour workweek and 4 hours of unpaid self-study per week.

What You'll Learn During Our IT Trainee Program

Whether you already have some experience in IT or not, the technology and tools that we and our clients use are constantly evolving. That’s why you’ll learn to understand the technology we use most and make it your own. In addition, you’ll earn certifications for Office 365, Azure, and Windows 10, among others; you’ll be introduced to working with data; and you’ll dive into software development methodologies.

To be able to work in complex organizations, it’s important to learn how to present your ideas. You’ll learn how to convey a message, how to communicate with colleagues and clients, and how to create the very best presentations. You’ll gain an understanding of how an organization works, from the front lines to management. You’ll also learn to be proactive and manage your time effectively.

To this end, you’ll learn specific processes, methods, and theories. In short, we combine technical skills with what we do best: people-centered IT. To truly grasp this, you’ll learn the hard and soft skills needed to become a fully-fledged consultant during the traineeship.

What are you bringing?

  • You have an unstoppable drive to build a career in IT and are just starting out

  • The ability to empathize with others

  • You have a higher vocational education (HBO) or university (WO) level of thinking (you have completed at least the first year of a higher vocational education program)

  • A place of residence in the Randstad, such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, or Utrecht.

  • You are willing to travel (in a leased car) within the Randstad (a Class B driver's license is required)

  • An excellent command of the Dutch language

  • You are available 40 hours a week

You’re ready for a new career in IT but have little or no experience in this field. You want to grow professionally and are willing to invest a significant amount of time and energy in that process. You’re good at reading people and have a strong sense of responsibility for helping yourself and others succeed.
