If an administrator has enabled MFA in the Office Admin Portal, the employee must do the following to use MFA:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 1. Download the Authenticator app<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Download the Microsoft Authenticator app from Google&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.azure.authenticator&amp;hl=nl\">Play Store<\/a>&nbsp;or Apple&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/nl\/app\/microsoft-authenticator\/id983156458\">App Store<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2. Authenticator Setup<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Go to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/login.microsoftonline.com\/common\/oauth2\/authorize?client_id=0000000c-0000-0000-c000-000000000000&amp;redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Faccount.activedirectory.windowsazure.com%2F&amp;response_mode=form_post&amp;response_type=code%20id_token&amp;scope=openid%20profile&amp;st\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this page<\/a>&nbsp;(Set up Authenticator) and sign in with your existing Office 365 account. After signing in, Microsoft will ask for additional security verification:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/alistar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/mfa_office_instellen_1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-54317\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here, select: Mobile App &gt; Use Verification Code, and then tap Set Up.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3. Activate on your smartphone<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Switch to your smartphone and open the Microsoft Authenticator app. Tap the menu in the top-right corner (three dots) &gt; Add account &gt; Work or school account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/alistar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/mfa_office_instellen_2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-54316\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You are asked to use your smartphone to scan the QR code on your PC or laptop screen:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"392\" height=\"441\" src=\"https:\/\/alistar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/mfa_office_instellen_3.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-54315\" style=\"width:392px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alistar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/mfa_office_instellen_3.webp 392w, https:\/\/alistar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/mfa_office_instellen_3-267x300.webp 267w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 392px) 100vw, 392px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your account has now been added to the Microsoft Authenticator app and will continue to generate new, one-time codes for MFA:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"385\" height=\"454\" src=\"https:\/\/alistar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/mfa_office_instellen_4.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-54314\" srcset=\"https:\/\/alistar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/mfa_office_instellen_4.webp 385w, https:\/\/alistar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/mfa_office_instellen_4-254x300.webp 254w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 385px) 100vw, 385px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You now need to set up Outlook (once per device) using a code.
