If these items are not included on your website, a buyer can have the purchase declared invalid. The responsibility for ensuring these mandatory elements are present lies with the publisher or owner of the website, not with the web developer. Use this checklist to verify that your website complies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Always included on a website:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your personal information<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What does this mean:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your (trade) name\/business name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>your physical address (where visitors to the website can find you \u2018in real life\u2019; generally, the address at which you are registered with the KBO)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your VAT number\/business registration number<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>email address so that visitors can contact us<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>bank account number<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>(Phone and fax numbers are not required)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Company<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the case of a corporation, there are a few additional mandatory disclosures that must be included along with the information provided above:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Legal structure of your company (NV, BVBA, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>registered office (especially when it differs from the physical address)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>RPR location (the city where the registry of the commercial court is located, where your company is registered in the Register of Legal Entities)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, your website must also have a privacy policy.<br>If necessary, ensure that this information is included throughout your entire website. It must also be included if your website is used solely to present your business. This also applies to goods and services that are not sold online but are presented online. Additional mandatory disclosures may apply if certain activities require a license or if your activities fall under the so-called regulated professions. Prices should not be listed if you are targeting only professional buyers, such as a wholesaler.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sales on Your Website and the Purchase Confirmation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What information must be included if consumers can purchase products or services through your website, and what must be included on the purchase confirmation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the seller's identity and physical address<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Key features of the product or service<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the price of the product or service<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>shipping costs (only if the product can be shipped)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the method of payment, delivery, and performance of the agreement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The \u2018cancellation clause.\u2019 Under this clause, consumers have the right to cancel their order during a cooling-off period of 14 calendar days.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the return and refund process if the product is defective + any associated costs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>costs for the use of remote communication technology when those costs are calculated on a basis other than the base rate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the validity period of the offer or the price<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Optional<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the physical address of the seller's place of business where the consumer can file a complaint<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>information regarding existing after-sales services and commercial warranties<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the conditions for terminating the agreement if it is for an indefinite term or has a term of more than one year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your website complies with the guidelines above, you\u2019ll reap a double benefit.
