It is the location where the customer makes a payment in exchange for goods. What does this actually entail?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A modern POS system will typically feature a touchscreen to make transactions go more smoothly. It\u2019s intuitive to use\u2014and therefore faster than using a mouse and keyboard together\u2014which also means customers won\u2019t have to wait as long in line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a retail environment, it\u2019s also important that the device presents a professional image to customers and that it can be neatly integrated into a desk or counter. \u00a0That is why we at ESC offer various models, such as all-in-one devices, in which the actual computer is built into the touchscreen chassis. A barcode scanner attached to the device is also an option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Depending on the specific needs of your industry, it will be a comprehensive and integrated system to which various peripheral devices can be connected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Example:<\/strong>&nbsp;At a butcher shop, the scale will be connected to the POS system to ensure that the correct amount is always weighed. At a home improvement store, on the other hand, there will likely be a need for a wireless barcode scanner that can scan the product codes of materials of various sizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The scanned quantity is then transmitted to the back-end&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/alistar.net\/en\/erp\/solutions\/\">ERP software<\/a>. As a result, the database will always contain accurate and up-to-date information, such as&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/alistar.net\/en\/erp\/\">the ERP solution<\/a>&nbsp;for construction and technical wholesalers, which in turn is useful for buyers (inventory management) and for reporting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, a payment module is also essential. The payment terminal linked to the checkout PC or POS ensures that incoming payments are forwarded to the accounting software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A POS system is therefore more than just a cash register.
