He invented the telephone in 1876. Nearly 150 years later, a true revolution is taking place in the telecommunications market. In fact, there\u2019s something interesting going on when you talk about his invention. That this has to do with <a href=\"https:\/\/alistar.net\/en\/microsoft-365\/teams\/\">Microsoft Teams <\/a>We'd be happy to explain anything related to telephony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Telephony Through the Years<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before the digital age, a great deal of money was invested in analog telephone systems to enable employees to communicate with customers. It was a time when everyone had a landline phone on their desk. The smartphone, which we all take for granted now, came along later. In many situations, this meant that employers were effectively paying twice; employees had both a landline and a cell phone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Teams Calling: All Communication Integrated<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By now, we\u2019ve gotten used to working together online in teams. We hold video conferences and use chat frequently. So why would we still need to call each other using \u2018a phone\u2019? Cell phones and digital <a href=\"https:\/\/alistar.net\/en\/blog\/making-calls-to-internal-and-external-teams-without-a-pbx\/\">VoIP systems<\/a> can be used, while you can still make calls right from Microsoft Teams. Most organizations already have it in place. You no longer need to dial phone numbers either. Teams has already found them for you; employees, customers, and yourself are no longer just numbers, but people with digital identities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Benefits of Integration via Teams Calling<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Having all communication integrated into a single application offers even more benefits. For example, Teams integrates with Outlook. So when people inside or outside the organization want to call you, they can immediately see whether you\u2019re available or not. Ideally, this means you\u2019ll be interrupted less often. During an online meeting, you can also easily bring someone else into the conversation. In our experience, this also improves the customer-supplier relationship. Finally, you might ask yourself whether you even need a phone system anymore.
