If you have one of these licenses, you can get started with AI Builder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You'll also need access to Microsoft Dataverse, Microsoft's smart, secure, and low-code data platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And finally, there's also the AI Builder add-on, or the free <a href=\"https:\/\/powerapps.microsoft.com\/en-us\/ai-builder\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">trial version <\/a>of it, necessary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everything okay? Then you can start building your first AI model!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Choose an AI capability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AI Builder offers a variety of AI capabilities, which are integrated into your apps and flows through models. You can build and customize these models yourself, or choose a ready-to-use model. Before you start building models, it\u2019s a good idea to familiarize yourself with the different types of models available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Choose a model<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sign in to Power Apps or Power Automate and select <strong>AI Builder &gt; Explore<\/strong> in the left-hand menu. This will take you to the overview shown below, where each tile represents a different AI capability that you can use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/alistar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/ai-builder-home-1024x671.png\" alt=\"AI models\" class=\"wp-image-44998\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Get to Know the Model<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each model has its own \u2018user manual,\u2019 where you can learn more about that specific model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the pre-built or ready-to-use models, AI Builder also provides you with a number of \u2018best practices.\u2019 When it comes to AI models that require customization\u2014and for which you\u2019ll need to make adjustments yourself\u2014AI Builder provides a summary of the various steps you need to take and what you\u2019ll need to get started. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Build your first model<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now that you understand how the various AI capabilities work, you can learn how to create and manage them. You can do this by following a few simple steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Select a model type<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sign in to Power Apps or Power Automate and select <strong>AI Builder &gt; Explore <\/strong>in the left-hand menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As mentioned earlier, there are two types of AI models: models that require customization and models that are ready to use. You can simply select the latter type and add them to your apps or flows; no additional work is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you decide to choose a custom model, you must first name your model before creating it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To help you create a custom model, you can use the guided experience that walks you through each step of the process. You'll find these steps in the left column. To show your progress, these steps are also updated automatically after each change. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the right-hand column, you'll find \u2018Quick Tips\u2019 that provide additional explanations of the concepts and the steps you need to take. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The final step is to review the summary of all your changes to make sure you've configured everything correctly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Training Your Model<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And then you start training your model. This may take a while, depending on the size of your dataset. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once the training is complete, you can start testing your model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/alistar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-5-2-1024x480.png\" alt=\"AI models\" class=\"wp-image-45505\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. How to Use Your Model<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now that you've finished building your AI model, you can start using it in Power Apps and Power Automate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">View details of your model<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Once your model has been trained sufficiently, you can view important details on the model's page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here, for example, you can see the adjustments you made to train your model, as well as your model's accuracy. Some types of AI models also let you run a quick test here, so you can see it in action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/alistar.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/image-1-3-1024x400.png\" alt=\"AI models\" class=\"wp-image-45485\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Publish Your Model<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yes, you can only use your model once it has been published.
