The core technology of Dynamics\u2014then known as Navision\u2014proved to be very comprehensive yet affordable. For the price of an accounting package, you essentially get a powerful ERP system with plenty of potential for the future. And that flexibility aligns perfectly with our industry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The availability of the software and suitable partners was also a decisive factor for Top Brands. \u201cThe Microsoft Dynamics distribution model gives you the freedom to choose your partner, and the various modules are widely available. Within the extensive partner channel, we would always be able to find support should our IT partner let us down,\u201d said Kristoff Tillieu. \u201cFortunately, that\u2019s never been necessary with Alistar. Their no-nonsense approach and willingness to solve our problems immediately won us over, and we have great confidence in them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The search for a suitable point-of-sale system led us to Iceland. \u201cOur colleagues there had long been relying on LS Retail\u2014an add-on that runs on top of Dynamics\u2014to manage their point-of-sale systems. In addition, they had a delivery module with extensive dispatch capabilities. With the increase in home deliveries, we in Belgium also had an urgent need for that,\u201d Kristoff Tillieu recalls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMost point-of-sale system providers are hardware specialists who also develop a software solution. With Dynamics, it\u2019s exactly the opposite: it\u2019s a robust financial ERP package on top of which LS Retail has built a hardware-independent POS module\u2014once data goes in, it never comes out, and that reliability is far more important than the brand of the machine. As we continued to expand the POS application, we were able to rely heavily on the additional modules already included as standard in Dynamics, which often allowed us to create significant added value immediately\u2014at a minimal cost.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n And the system works flawlessly: \u201cEvery evening, the sales data is uploaded to the POS server for marketing analysis. In the morning, sales figures are compared with the KPIs for each location, allowing for immediate action if necessary. Quick results are also very important for measuring the success of our couponing campaigns.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kristoff Tillieu continues: \u201cThe bill of materials is defined for every product sold, so our inventory is now managed very intelligently. Theoretical and actual consumption are continuously compared.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Finally, the delivery branches are also operating much more efficiently. \u201cThe system has a built-in route-planning module. Based on location and availability, the dispatcher selects the most appropriate driver. Upon the driver\u2019s return, the cash register automatically calculates the amount to be deposited. Errors are impossible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Since 2006, the GMI Group has been actively installing handheld devices in several Pizza Hut restaurants. Kristoff Tillieu explains: \u201cThink of it as a small, portable cash register with a touchscreen whose buttons are updated every day, so the latest products are always listed on it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAfter an order is entered, all the information is immediately transmitted via a server to the kitchen and the cash register. This saves our staff many unnecessary kilometers, and it also gives us a clear picture of which dishes are leaving the kitchen. As a welcome side effect, staff training time has been significantly reduced thanks to these user-friendly devices.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n With so many advantages, it makes sense that Top Brands wants to equip 10 Pizza Hut restaurants with these handheld systems every year. And the future holds even more in store: starting in 2008, online ordering will be introduced, and not long after that, Pizza Hut hopes to become a \u201cone-phone-number\u201d company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Top Brands has also acquired the franchise rights to Paul, the successful bakery chain with 300 stores in France, where, in addition to the aroma of fresh bread and coffee, visitors can also soak up the atmosphere of the early 20th century. The first store opened in Brussels on November 19, 2007, and expectations are high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Alistar implemented a new management system there, based largely on his experience with Pizza Hut. As a result, Paul is already fully prepared for the expected success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Data from the new Paul franchise and Pizza Hut must not come into contact with each other. A complete duplication and decoupling of our system was therefore necessary. Thanks to Alistar, everything went very smoothly, and Paul was able to open its doors without any worries.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s no coincidence that Alistar was chosen to handle the automation for Paul as well as Pizza Hut. \u201cIT can be very vague, and as a company, you need a good partner. We\u2019ve been working with the specialists at Alistar for years.
