SSL (secure sockets layer) en TLS (transport layer security) zijn een essentieel protocol op vlak van netwerkcommunicatie. Dit protocol zorgt er bijvoorbeeld voor dat de data tussen je webbrowser op jouw gsm en de server van de website beveiligd wordt en dat deze communicatie vertrouwelijk en fraudebestendig is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dit gebeurt aan de hand van encryptie. De webbrowser gaat een ID controle doen bij de server van die website. Dat gebeurt met behulp van certificaatcheck. Als controles in orde zijn, dan gaan de server en de webbrowser een encryptie-key onderhandelen.  Deze key wordt gebruikt om de communicatie te beveiligen. In het protocol SSL\/TLS zit ook een detectiemogelijkheid om manipulaties te ontdekken. Daardoor is SSL\/TLS heel nuttig en nodig voor alles wat op het internet gebeurt. Zeker bij banken, ecommerce websites en ook in mail!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
