ESC Group Acquires SDP Retail and Expands into France, Spain, and Argentina

Accelerated global expansion of retail technology through strategic acquisitions.
ESC Group, now Alistar, Acquires SDP Retail and Expands into France, Spain, and Argentina

The ESC Group is strengthening its position as an expert in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and modern workplaces through the acquisition of SDP Retail. SDP Retail’s specialization in software and IT for the retail sector is also a strong addition to the portfolio. With this move, the ESC Group is also entering the French market, with additional support and development departments in Spain and Argentina to boot. Following this acquisition, the group now has more than 550 technology specialists and has surpassed the 100 million euro mark in consolidated revenue.

40 years of experience in retail

SDP Retail is known among both large and small retailers for its fast point-of-sale and ERP software. This Belgian IT company has nearly 40 years of experience in the Belgian market and has been active in France for more than 20 years, offering both its own solutions and Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 Business Central. Co-owner Luc De Cock is enthusiastic about this step for his company: “To ensure continuity for our customers and give our teams every opportunity for growth, SDP Retail is joining the ESC Group. I am handing over the reins to Jan Struyve, who will now apply his many years of experience with us in an even broader context.”

Previous collaboration: Dynavision joint venture

“We’ve been working closely with SDP Retail for nearly three years through the Dynavision joint venture. Together, we develop sophisticated extensions for Dynamics 365 Business Central that are now distributed by many other Dynamics partners worldwide,” says Jan Hofman, CEO of the ESC Group. “”So we already knew each other well and will now combine our strengths and portfolios in Belgium, the Netherlands, and France.”

“SDP Retail’s joining the ESC Group is a well-considered decision on our part. Our customers can be assured that our products and services will continue, and at the same time, they can feel confident about the future,” adds Jan Struyve.

Earlier this year, GMI Group (Belgium), Logic Vision, and DynamicHands (Netherlands) also joined the group. Together with other strong players such as Advisie, Net IT, and now SDP Retail, the ESC Group—with more than 550 consultants—has become the leading challenger in the European IT and business applications market.

The group’s clients can now count on even deeper expertise. On the one hand, in Microsoft technologies such as Dynamics 365 CRM, Business Central, Copilot, Power BI, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365. On the other hand, in Exact ERP Business Software, proprietary solutions, e-business, cybersecurity, IT management, and AI.
