Kavégas

Kavégas tasked Alistar with implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with FuelVision 365 in two phases: first, capturing master data and transactions; then, optimizing and fine-tuning the system.

Kavégas was encountering increasing problems and limitations with the configuration of its current software package, which is why the company turned to Alistar. After conducting a preliminary study, we recently received the final contract to implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in combination with FuelVision 365, our industry-specific ERP software for the energy sector.

During the preliminary study, we explored options for optimizing the primary business processes. Because many processes are not yet automated, there is significant potential for improvement in this area for Kavégas. Implementing ERP software takes time, and the organization also needs time to become familiar with the new processes. For this reason, Alistar recommended dividing the ERP implementation into two phases:

Phase 1: Integrate the primary process into FuelVision 365

At this stage, the focus is on recording all the data in FuelVision 365. This involves recording and maintaining primary master data (contacts, customers, shipping addresses, logistics notes, tanks, service items, suppliers, bottles, other items), as well as recording all transactions (purchases/sales) at the item level and recording and maintaining prices. This phase serves as the foundation and allows users to gain experience with the new ERP software.

Phase 2: Optimization

In the post-go-live phase, users identify any features that may still be missing or areas where the process or system design could be improved. These requests are documented and, if necessary, implemented with the assistance of our consultants. The advantage of this approach is that it prevents the implementation of features in the initial phase that will never be used later on.
