Electronic Data Interchange
EDI stands for Electronic Data Interchange. This is a generic term for the electronic exchange of certain business documents, such as orders, invoices, and messages or confirmations. Stop printing, mailing, and processing data on paper, and choose Alistar’s EDI interface.
The data exchange is based on XML and the Exact SDK. The integration can be fully customized to meet your organization's specific needs.

When should you choose the EDI tool?
If the processes in your organization need a significant efficiency boost and/or if processing and personnel costs within your organization can be significantly reduced.
It’s also possible that clients or suppliers may require the ability to integrate digitally. Or that a competitor offers their products and services at a lower cost.

How does the EDI Module work?
The Alistar EDI Module is installed as an extension to Exact Globe and serves as the link between your accounting system and external business partners. Messages are exchanged via XML files, and the configuration can be fully tailored to your processes and the requirements of your customers or suppliers.
Within the solution, incoming messages are converted by an EDI partner into the agreed-upon XML format and then processed automatically or manually in Exact Globe. Outgoing data, such as packing slips, invoices, or order confirmations, is exported from Exact Globe to XML and forwarded via the EDI partner to the recipient in the desired EDI format.
Prior to implementation, an analysis of the current processes, message flows, and partner requirements is conducted. Next, the necessary mappings, import, and export processes are set up and tested. This ensures that the EDI solution integrates seamlessly with the existing Exact environment, enabling reliable and efficient message exchange.

Key Benefits
The EDI Module automates the exchange of logistics and administrative messages between Exact Globe and customers, suppliers, or other business partners. This eliminates the need for manual data entry, which reduces the risk of data entry errors and ensures a more efficient process.
The solution can be configured flexibly and integrates with the existing workflow within Exact Globe. Messages can be configured on a per-trading-partner basis, allowing for the support of specific customer and supplier requirements without requiring major changes to the accounting system.
In addition, the module supports both manual and automated message processing. This allows you to tailor the process to your desired level of control and automation. Thanks to the use of XML messages and custom mappings, data can be exchanged reliably while preserving the existing structure of Exact Globe as much as possible. This makes the EDI Module suitable for organizations that want to collaborate more efficiently with their supply chain partners and further digitize their order and logistics processes.
