Icon Yachts is a leading Dutch yacht builder in the most luxurious segment of custom megayachts. The company has a 150-meter dry dock and a ship lift with a lifting capacity of 4,500 metric tons. With a fresh approach to new-build, conversion, and refit projects—along with the associated engineering techniques—the company is forward-thinking, flexible, and customer-focused.
Icon has developed a unique construction concept in which the technical design of the yachts is fully developed in advance, leaving the client to decide only on the styling and interior. This new concept requires structurally sound solutions for complex construction and administrative processes, tailored to yacht building. That is why, in 2007, Icon Yachts chose our Shipyard Module (now ProVision365)—our standard solution for yacht and shipbuilding based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (formerly Navision).
Icon Yachts’ ideas turned out to align well with the principles behind our software solution. A functional connection between Icon Yachts and Alistar quickly developed. At the time, there was significant pressure to get the organization up and running quickly and smoothly, and the company was working hard to finalize its production facility and staffing. In parallel with this hectic period, the project administration and financial administration also needed to be set up and made operational.
