Every year, we at Haval produce more than 5,000,000,000 products—disposables and packaging—exclusively for the food market. Innovation, food safety, and quality are key values for our company.
There was a time when we were still small and our business operations were straightforward. For logistics and production, Excel worked just fine for us. For invoicing, we made the switch to Exact for DOS in the late 1980s, which later became Exact for Windows, of course.
Once we started growing rapidly, we realized that working with Excel wasn’t ideal; things would often go wrong. Sales orders were forgotten or not invoiced, and we didn’t have a clear picture of our inventory needs. In short, it had become unmanageable.
Professionalization Drive
So when I returned to Haval as Operations Manager—after gaining a few years of experience elsewhere—my first task was to implement a series of measures to professionalize the organization. Automation was, of course, part of that.
We were still only handling invoicing in Exact, and I felt it was time to look for an integrated solution that—in addition to financial accounting—also incorporated logistics and production workflows, supplemented by the digitization of the procurement process and from which we could also extract valuable management information.

A good connection
In 2015, we immediately felt that we clicked. At the end of that year, we decided to have a situation analysis conducted. Extensive discussions took place. By combining the existing situation with the requirements and wishes we had for a future software package, a proposal was developed.
We have taken the step toward Exact Globe and Exact Synergy Enterprise for financial, logistics (purchasing, sales, and inventory), and production management.
We started using ScanSys for our invoice management, and thanks to Sumatra’s interactive reporting software, we now have real-time insight into all our processes. This has enabled us to implement a modern and future-proof comprehensive solution that guarantees 100 percent reliability in the workflow between purchasing, sales, delivery, and invoicing.
Not just a paper tiger
Often, the choice of a dealer also comes down to the impression you get from a company and the people who work there. We already hit it off with Walther van Gool, our account manager, during our first meeting.
We're a small-to-medium-sized business with sixty employees, and we operate 24/7. If there's one thing we don't need, it's a paper tiger. We need a partner with a hands-on approach, and we've found one.
We look at what happens in practice and how we can make it as easy as possible for everyone.
Result
In all these years, our trust has never been betrayed. If there’s ever a problem, they take care of it for us right away.
Yes, I can honestly say that together we've achieved a great result that everyone is happy with—and there's no end in sight.
