ScanSys ImageCapture
Microsoft has announced that support for Basic Authentication on SMTP within Office 365 will end in September 2025. This applies to sending emails (SMTP). Support for incoming email had already ended in 2023.
Due to the phase-out of Basic Authentication for Office 365, ScanSys ImageCapture Now OAuth authorization. Microsoft has discontinued Basic Authentication, and OAuth is now required. If you import or send emails in ImageCapture via Office 365, you must replace your existing Microsoft Exchange email account with a Microsoft Graph email account.
A Microsoft Graph Email Account uses OAuth for authorization with Office 365. To set this up, create an app registration in the Microsoft Azure portal. There, you’ll configure the necessary permissions and enter the information required to connect to ImageCapture.
The process is divided into three parts:
1. The initial configuration of Microsoft Graph in the Azure portal.
2. Integrating Microsoft Graph with ImageCapture.
3. Periodic maintenance or repair of the coupling.
