Images and/or scans often contain important information, but it can be difficult to find the right image or scan among all your files. Adding text recognition is therefore a smart idea if you want to work faster and more efficiently.
Adding text recognition to a Power App ensures that text is automatically extracted from images using ‘advanced optical character recognition’ (OCR, or Optical Character Recognition). This allows your custom-built Power App to find and read text from photos or scanned documents.
All you have to do is create a Power App canvas and add the text recognizer to it AI Builder Add a component. This component takes a photo or loads an image from the local device, and then processes it to detect and extract text based on the pre-trained text recognition model. If it detects text in the image, the component outputs the text and identifies the instances by displaying a rectangle for each instance in the image.
