Direct Routing & VoIP + Microsoft Teams

Today, we're chatting and making video calls more than ever via Microsoft Teams, that's become the norm! But did you know that you can also integrate your traditional phone system using Direct Routing and VoIP? With the integrated cloud solution from Microsoft Teams and Destiny Optimize your collaboration and business continuity: Enhance your cloud-based phone system with the collaboration features of Microsoft Teams and integrate your CRM with it. This allows you to work and collaborate more efficiently while remaining reachable by customers and colleagues wherever you are.

The combination of Teams and a phone system

Do you use Microsoft Teams as a phone system? If so, you can integrate your traditional phone system into the Microsoft Teams environment. This is convenient for your colleagues who are on the go or working remotely, as well as for your in-office employees. With Destiny’s Direct Routing solution, you can turn Microsoft Teams into a full-fledged phone system. Each Microsoft Teams user is assigned their own phone number. Through the Microsoft Teams app, they receive calls and make outgoing calls via the Destiny phone calls. Or they can easily transfer calls to colleagues on their cell phones, users within Microsoft Teams, or external numbers. Everything is managed from a single screen. All you need is a headset.

Direct Routing VoIP

Integrate your business into Microsoft Teams with direct routing

Would you like to continue using the MS Teams environment as a collaboration tool, in combination with a more advanced cloud-based PBX? That’s possible too—via VoIP! Voice over IP, or VoIP, stands for Voice over Internet Protocol. Simply put: making calls over the computer network.  You no longer connect your PBX or phone to the telephone network, but directly to the internet—via any existing internet connection. With VoIP, your phone system and the internet are on the same network. At Destiny, you can even use our own cloud-based phone system. This allows Destiny to integrate with your customer database, help desk, or call center environment:

  • Microsoft CRM-Integration. We integrate Destiny's cloud-based phone system with your CRM system. When you receive an incoming call, you'll immediately see who's on the line and what you need to know about the caller and their projects.
  • Advanced call center. With our cloud-based telephony, you have a full-featured call center solution at your disposal. A general number routes calls to an available agent in no time. Using the Destiny app with its integrated MS Teams interface, your call center manager can monitor calls (including dropped calls) and agent activity—in real time. This allows them to intervene in the call center solution when necessary and keep track of all information via MS Teams.
  • Ticketing. We can also integrate your ticketing solution with helpdesks.  Anyone with a question is automatically sent a ticket number. If that user calls our help desk and enters that number into the menu, the call is routed to the agent they spoke with previously. Thanks to the feature described above, CRM Integration This agent can also see the history of the support request on the screen and can immediately assist the caller. This way, the customer doesn't have to repeat their story over and over again.

What are the advantages of VoIP and direct routing compared to traditional telephony?

  • Cost efficiency. First and foremost: VoIP is much cheaper. Your phone system no longer needs 100,000 lines for all your phones or ISDN connections with your carrier. That saves on purchase, management, and maintenance costs.
  • Scalable solution. A VoIP connection with your service provider is also much more scalable than traditional phone lines. You can easily order additional channels over the same connection without needing new infrastructure. With a cloud-based VoIP PBX, there are absolutely no limits. You can scale it up or down as needed—depending on your requirements.
  • Seamless remote work. Are you considering a cloud-based VoIP phone system? It makes it easier to communicate and collaborate remotely. Because it runs in the cloud, your users can access it from any location. You can also integrate your mobile phone service with VoIP phone systems. Your colleagues can then be reached at their landline number via their mobile device. If someone doesn’t answer right away, the call is forwarded to a colleague or the front desk. Your colleagues can Make calls and surf the web to your heart's content, wherever and whenever they want. In these times of remote work and increasing mobility, that can make a difference.
  • Focus on Security – VoIP is also a solid choice when it comes to security. Of course, you’ll need to protect your business network from cyber risks with a firewall, but VoIP doesn’t pose a greater risk of data breaches than traditional networks. Furthermore, most providers have built the necessary security measures into their networks to prevent fraud.

Switching to VoIP with Direct Routing? Great idea!

VoIP is on the verge of replacing traditional telephony. This has already largely happened in Northern Europe and the Netherlands. France and Belgium are also making the switch more and more. And rightly so. After all, Voice over IP offers businesses the flexibility they so desperately need right now. And with recent technological advances, there is no longer any difference in quality between traditional telephony and Voice over IP. VoIP providers typically build several ‘quality of service’ mechanisms into their internet lines to guarantee sound and network quality at all times.

It's clear: VoIP and direct routing make (business) life more efficient and faster. Thanks to VoIP, telephony an ever-smaller component in a larger communications system, in which the boundaries between different applications are becoming increasingly blurred.
