Give your B2B online store an official quality seal

Alistar logo

The association has held a B2C quality certification for several years now online stores, but since February, B2B e-commerce sites have been able to obtain their own label. The payment and transaction company Worldline received the first Becommerce B2B label. If you’d like to display the label on your website, you’ll need to meet a number of requirements, of course.

Certification Process for a B2B online store

For example, your online store’s privacy policy must be clearly visible on your website. Price and shipping information must also be clearly communicated.

In addition, your company must become a member of the nonprofit organization Becommerce. There are costs involved.

Once you’ve applied for the label, Becommerce conducts a thorough review of your business and your website. This means that both your business and your website will be audited by external audit firms. You’ll then receive a report outlining areas for improvement. Once you’ve implemented those changes, you’ll receive certification.

Companies with the quality label are, of course, inspected regularly. An external audit firm evaluates members’ websites. As long as the website meets the requirements, you may display the quality label on your B2B online store.

In addition, Becommerce mediates in disputes between your company and customers.

The Procedure

Register via the website

  1. The applicant submits the required documents (KBO extract, annual financial report)
  2. Upon receipt of the required documents, the applicant will receive a confirmation email containing a link to a certification questionnaire
  3. Financial documents are reviewed by an external auditor and must receive a positive assessment.
  4. The completed certification questionnaire and website will be reviewed by Bureau Veritas (any necessary changes will be coordinated directly with the applicant)
  5. Bureau Veritas Provides Advice to the Review Committee
  6. BeCommerce notifies the applicant by email of the review committee’s decision and, in the event of a positive recommendation, provides the necessary materials.

On average, the entire application process takes 4 to 6 weeks.
