Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams is a program that brings people, apps, and documents together in a single dashboard. It’s ideal for helping team members communicate, no matter where in the world they are. You can even make calls with it.
But sometimes you work with professionals outside your company. In that case, it becomes more difficult to make sure they’re aware of every update.
That was already possible, but only if those external employees had an Azure Active Directory account. Now, all they need is an email address.
The invitee will then receive an email. Guests do need a Microsoft account associated with that email address. Fortunately, you can easily create such an account for free.
SharePoint Hub Sites
This allows you to use Hub Sites to bring SharePoint groups together. This is useful for grouping the various SharePoint sites related to a specific topic, project, or department. It makes things more organized and efficient by:
- the search feature that searches all your SharePoint sites within a hub.
- the news feed that summarizes all the news from your sites.
- easy navigation between individual sites within the hub.
- the ability to move sites from one hub to another.
When we think about our own, rather chaotic, SharePoint site at Alistar, we can only welcome this new feature. Unfortunately, this update isn't widely available yet, but it's coming soon!
