Microsoft has introduced new and improved features in Whiteboard. The new features range from templates to real-time text and are available in both the standalone version and within Microsoft Teams. In this blog, we’ll discuss the new and improved features and how you can use them to optimize your Teams meetings, brainstorming sessions, and online (remote) collaboration.

What is Microsoft Whiteboard?
Microsoft Whiteboard is a versatile digital collaboration app that is part of the Microsoft 365 suite. It makes brainstorming and remote collaboration simple and efficient, making it an indispensable tool for modern teams and professionals. With this app, you can draw, add shapes, text, and other elements to the whiteboards you create. It offers many features and is designed for pen, touch, and keyboard input, giving your ideas plenty of room to grow. The most important feature of Microsoft Whiteboard is the ability to brainstorm together in real time during a Teams meeting. This means that team members, regardless of their location, can work together to share content and ideas.
New Features and Capabilities
First, the template organization has been improved with a convenient categorization system, in which templates are divided into ‘recommended,’ ‘my templates,’ and ‘shared with me.’ In addition, users can now add real-time comments to colleagues’ notes and drawings, which significantly improves collaboration. The platform also offers real-time editing, allowing all users to immediately see what’s being updated and keep track of changes. Furthermore, new, extensive text formatting options are available, including the ability to pin and copy sections of text. When circling or underlining content, you can now also adjust the opacity of the lines, and so on. There are also new reaction options, such as thumbs-up and hearts, to encourage collaboration. Finally, the toolbar has been moved to the bottom of the screen, which improves the platform’s ease of use. These updates make Microsoft Whiteboard an even more powerful and user-friendly tool for collaboration and note-taking.
