Data loss prevention is a combination of tools, technologies, and processes designed to protect sensitive data within your organization. These processes protect against both intentional and accidental loss, tampering, or potential leaks. The technology primarily used for this purpose is encryption. The data is therefore encrypted or rendered unreadable.
In-house inspection is also possible; for example, credit card information or trade secrets can be labeled so that they automatically receive protected status. This prevents these documents from being downloaded, or requires specific permissions to open them. Of course, this also includes reporting, and we can apply it to endpoints, cloud applications, and gateways.
