E-commerce platform at pgb-Europe

Pgb-Europe invested in automation to better support customers, international sales teams, customer service, and internal departments. With automated warehouses and smart integrations, the company—in collaboration with Alistar—extended that efficiency to its online and offline ordering processes. Today, this platform serves as a central hub for all commercial communication and connects all systems into a single omnichannel e-commerce environment.

A success story

pgb-Europe already had 10 years of e-commerce experience with an order module add-on built on top of their AS400 ERP system at the time. In a series of workshops, we identified the building blocks for a new order platform and implemented NatchOS as the e-commerce platform. The project was carried out simultaneously with the implementation and roll-out of SAP ECC with a HANA database.

The Path to Success

Roll out a new e-commerce platform simultaneously with their new SAP system ERP system. In addition to e-commerce, the right content must also be available to customers.

pgb-Europe’s product range is broad and deep, and the services associated with the product—such as a high fulfillment rate, lightning-fast order processing, and strong customer service—presented a wide range of challenges.

The collaboration with Alistar resulted in a user-friendly e-commerce platform with room for further digital growth, making it easier for customers to place orders.

Approach Over the Years

A digital strategy developed based on the needs of pgb-Europe. Focus on personalizing the platform to meet the individual needs of each customer and on the extensive product catalog.

Roll out the app to enhance service for all stakeholders. The pgb-Europe app allows users to scan items in their own warehouse and order them immediately from pgb-Europe.

The group's digital transformation continues. Overseas sites such as pgb-Polska, a manufacturing facility, are joining the multi-store network.

Integration of a PIM platform to significantly increase the level of product information. Enhancement of the search function and more customer information.
