New Digital Work Environment
De Vlaamse Waterweg nv is an Extern Verzelfstandigd Agentschap (EVA) within the Flemish government that manages and operates all navigable waterways in Flanders (with the exception of maritime access points and ports).
As a result of the Sixth State Reform, De Vlaamse Waterweg was granted a new authority: enforcement on and along waterways. For this reason, De Vlaamse Waterweg established a new enforcement unit in early 2020, led by Stefan Devocht. With Alistar as its technical partner, they succeeded in Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform their vision of information-driven enforcement to achieve.
Work More Easily and Efficiently
“One of the advantages of using the tool in the field is that people can use their tablets to make observations on-site and take photos, which are automatically uploaded and linked to the case file. The tool’s geolocation feature also shows where you are and what additional information is available for that location, so you don’t have to enter any address details. Documents sent to the relevant prosecutor’s office are linked to the location of the finding. This makes searching easier and more efficient for our users,” says Stefan. The mobile app in Power Apps and the back-office system in Dynamics 365 provide greater automation, making work much faster, easier, and more efficient.
