Service Bus and Alistar Products
The Service Bus acts as a ‘post office’ for the various digital systems within your company. With our products—which we develop on our low-code platform, Portal Builder—both internal and external individuals or organizations can be part of business processes without having direct access to Exact Software or other applications.
Although they do not have direct access to the Exact environment, the information is shared in real time from Exact. “To streamline your processes, you often use multiple software programs, such as a WMS, PIM, e-commerce platform, and transportation management tools,” says Anthony Dorlandt, senior software developer at Alistar. “All these systems need to be able to communicate with each other and exchange information. Unfortunately, they almost never speak the same ‘language’ or operate at the same time. With the Service Bus, we solve that problem.”
Scalable and flexible
A major advantage of the Service Bus is that you can update multiple systems at once with a single message. “When you update product data in your PIM system, the information in Exact, your WMS system, and the online store platform is updated immediately,” Anthony explains. “It doesn’t matter which system sends or receives the information; the Service Bus ensures that the data arrives securely, quickly, and at the right time.”
All information is encrypted end-to-end. The Service Bus can buffer messages and deliver them in the correct order, allowing backend systems to process the data at their own pace without any data loss. This provides a scalable solution that can flexibly adapt to changing workloads or peak loads in data processing.
Portal Builder low-code platform
”Using the Portal Builder low-code platform, we develop certified Exact add-ons that securely exchange information with CMS and ERP systems. These modules allow you to exchange information in real time via the web using a mobile device, tablet, or desktop,“ explains Arie van Leeuwe, Senior Account Manager at Alistar. ”This makes it possible for people—both internal and external—to manage their own affairs within Exact and/or other systems. This can be done in real time without direct access to that software.”
“Consider, for example, a web form for job applicants where they can enter their name, address, and contact information and upload their resume. This information is then imported directly into Exact Synergy. You could use a similar form to register a return shipment, which is entered and marked as a return in Exact in real time, without any employee intervention, or a customer portal where people can view their orders, order history, and invoices.”
