Endpoint security is a combination of measures designed to protect endpoints. Endpoints are, after all, your points of access to your network, servers, and essentially all of your organization’s resources. Every endpoint is therefore also a potential entry point for hackers, malware, or viruses. That’s why it’s crucial to have robust security in place. This is primarily achieved through antivirus software, a firewall, and the use of IPS, and encryption should not be overlooked either.
In addition, managing and monitoring those endpoints is also very important. This allows network administrators to immediately see if there are any devices running out-of-date operating systems or if updates have not yet been applied. Is all firmware up to date? Have all security vulnerabilities been patched? Access to your resources is also monitored.
Of course, cybersecurity involves much more than just endpoint security. Effective cybersecurity starts with a solid cybersecurity strategy!
