What is NIS2?
NIS2 is the new European directive on the security of network and information systems in the EU. It is the successor to the NIS-1 Directive, which entered into force in 2016. The NIS 2 Directive is intended to improve the cybersecurity of essential services in the EU. The directive sets specific requirements for management, risk management, business continuity, and reporting to the authorities.
The NIS 2 Directive expands the scope of the NIS 1 Directive to include more sectors and entities, sets higher requirements, and calls for greater transparency.
