Microsoft has announced that support for Basic Authentication on SMTP within Office 365 will end in September 2025. This applies to sending emails (SMTP). Support for incoming email had already ended in 2023.
Within applications such as Elvy SMTP with Basic Authentication is often used.
In the application, go to the ElvyWeb – Settings menu. Here, you'll find the following screen on the General tab:
If you have already selected ‘Elvy SMTP’ and the email address noreply@elvy.nl If you have set this as the sender, this termination will not affect you.
If the settings are different, we recommend that you manual to follow.
