Is Microsoft Copilot available to everyone?
Copilot for Microsoft 365 is available for Microsoft 365 Business Standard and Premium licenses, as well as for Enterprise E3 or E5 licenses. For personal use, you can use Copilot (formerly Bing Chat) or subscribe to Microsoft Copilot Pro.
How do I get Microsoft Copilot?
Before you begin, you'll need a Microsoft 365 Business license (Microsoft 365 Business Standard or Microsoft 365 Business Premium) or an Enterprise license (Microsoft 365 E3 or E5, Office E3 or E5). After activating the Microsoft Copilot license, the AI assistant is automatically added to all Microsoft 365 applications.
Is Microsoft Copilot safe to use?
To ensure that your employees can use Microsoft Copilot safely and ethically within your organization, we recommend that you Copilot Readiness Assessment to complete before you can take full advantage of Copilot. We recommend that you start working with Copilot right away in a sufficiently diverse group, provided you take the risks into account. To fully implement it, we recommend that you first establish your governance framework. The assessment analyzes your organization’s processes, systems, and policies to determine whether your organization is ready to implement Microsoft Copilot. It provides insight into the risks related to data protection (GDPR), privacy, and internal regulations.
How do I use Microsoft Copilot?
Just like with ChatGPT and Gemini, it’s important to provide clear and specific prompts. By using good prompts, you provide detailed instructions on what you want to achieve. Ask specific questions, use natural language as if you were talking to a colleague, and include contextual information. Here are a few examples of prompts you can use in Copilot for Microsoft 365:
Write an executive summary for my Word document.
Write a follow-up email with my notes and to-do items from the meeting.
Summarize my Teams messages from the past week in the channel conversation.
